I am so sorry I haven't posted lately. Thing is, I was travelling and when I got there, with all the thoughts, theories and theatrics thundering around in my thick skull, I tried writing them down but the wireless connection was hit or miss and it was mostly miss!
Speaking of miss....I have missed you. You bring me release like nothing else can. Your blank slate provides me with a new experience every time. You do not judge my words or edit my creativity. You are eager to post whatever I want and you do it so professionally.
I only wish you could help me get more of an audience. I am no marketing genious, that's for sure. But, I suppose doing it for the sake of getting it out of my head and onto paper is therapeutic in and of itself and it promotes better writing. So, I will continue to write in an effort to clear my head, feed my heart, foster my creativity, and figure out my fairytale.
Thanks Contemporary Fairytale. You are a good listener.
Kaye T. glad to know the Contemporary Fairytale continues.
ReplyDeleteThe thing I've notice in blogging is that there are a lot more lurkers and readers than those willing to comment.
When I blogged on soulcast.com you could see how many people hit your page, but you couldn't see who "they" were. Lots of readers and hits (it was steamy) but very few people commented. I blogged on multiply.com for much longer and had a big increase in readers and commenters because visuals (vids and photos) could be added. The great thing about multiply is that you could see how many people visited your page; and if they were multiply subscribers you could "see" who they were and visit their page whether they commented or not. If your page was public the hits were even higher. But multiply struck a deal with microsoft and cleaned out the "adult" content sites.
If you want to get an idea of how many people are visiting your blog, and what posts are popular you could add a stat counter to the page.
Also, commenting on other people's blogs just may get them to visit your blog and maybe (don't hold your breath) comment, too. :D
Be well.

Thanks for this excellent advice. Hmmm a stat counter...I will have to figure that one out first.
ReplyDeleteI'm one of those readers who lurk but never comment until now. I found Contemporary Fairytale several months ago when I was starting my own blog. I'm amazed at your honesty and it has inspired me to be more open in my own posts. Looking forward to reading more....
